Yazz® Tip Just 4 You

Your menstrual experience may not look exactly like someone else's. Getting familiar with your own cycle can help you recognise your usual pattern and prepare for your period.

Learn it. Track it. Understand it.

Your First Period? We've Got Tips Just 4 You.

Your first period is one of the changes that can happen during puberty.

You may feel excited, nervous, confused or have lots of questions. That's okay.

Learning about menstruation before your first period can make the experience feel much more manageable.

What Is a First Period?

Your first menstrual period is called menarche. It is one of the normal changes associated with puberty.

There isn't one exact age when everyone gets their first period, so try not to compare your experience with friends or classmates.

Signs Your Body Is Changing

During puberty, you may notice different physical and emotional changes. These can happen gradually and at different times for different people.

Understanding these changes can help you feel better prepared.

My First Period Checklist

Be ready before your period arrives.

Create a small Yazz® Period Kit for your school bag, handbag or backpack.

Consider including:

  • Yazz® Sanitary Pads
  • A clean pair of underwear
  • Tissues
  • A small pouch
  • A disposal bag
  • Your period tracker or calendar

At School When Your Period Starts?

Don't panic.

Speak with a teacher, school nurse, parent, caregiver or another trusted adult if you need help.

Having a small period kit in your school bag can also help you feel prepared.

Periods shouldn't stop learning.

Simple Protection. Everyday Confidence.

If you've never used a sanitary pad before, it may seem unfamiliar at first.

A sanitary pad is worn inside your underwear to absorb menstrual flow.

Using Your Yazz® Pad

  1. Wash and dry your hands.
  2. Remove the pad from its individual wrapper.
  3. Peel away the protective backing.
  4. Position the pad securely in the centre of your underwear.
  5. If your Yazz® pad has wings, fold them around the sides of your underwear to help keep the pad in place.
  6. Change your pad regularly and whenever it feels full, uncomfortable or needs replacing.
  7. Wrap the used pad securely before placing it in an appropriate waste bin.
  8. Wash your hands afterwards.

Never flush sanitary pads down the toilet.

Always follow the usage and disposal instructions displayed on your Yazz® packaging.
